Pool Calculator
Volume, water, coping, filtration flow and the energy to warm the water, drawn to scale as you type.
Volumes assume an even slope from the shallow to the deep end. The energy figure is the theoretical heat for the water itself, about 1.16 kWh per cubic metre and degree, without losses through surface, walls or wind. Real demand is higher and depends on cover and climate; your pool builder sizes filtration and heating to the final design.
Size follows use: a lap lane wants length, a family pool wants a generous shallow area, a plunge pool wants depth and a quiet corner.
Use the figures to compare options early and to talk to your pool builder with a clear picture. Coping length helps estimate stone for the edge, the pump flow shows how much water the filtration has to move, and the heating figure makes the effect of a cover or a smaller pool tangible.
